Morrison County Area Foundation (MCAF) is a Partner Fund of the Initiative Foundation that serves as a vehicle for gathering and distributing charitable gifts to make a lasting contribution to our communities. The endowment fund serves as a charitable investment account in which the principal contributions are never spent; only the earnings provide a flexible, dependable funding stream to support important projects.

Partnership

The Morrison County Area Foundation became a permanent endowment fund of the Initiative Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Foundation in 2001. Its advisory board is comprised of local volunteers who have a vision for strengthening their community.

Our goal is to unite the generosity of those who care deeply for our local natural resources.

Community Impact

Created in 1986, the Initiative Foundation is powering possibilities to help Central Minnesota people build and sustain thriving communities. The Foundation serves the 14 counties of Central Minnesota, providing nonprofit grants, business loans, leadership training and an array of donor services. We believe that local people have the greatest sum of initiative, knowledge, and relationships to achieve a brighter future.

The grants are awarded to high-impact community programs. Just some of the MCAF grants given since 2014 include:
